1. Scope and Application
This Privacy Policy outlines how HostHQ ("Controller" and "Processor") collects, utilizes, shares, and secures personal data. This policy is explicitly designed to comply with the New Jersey Data Protection Act (NJDPA) and protects consumers acting in an individual or household context. It does not apply to individuals acting in a commercial or employment context.
2. Information Collection and Processing
HostHQ collects information necessary to process transactions, generate secure ticketing, and facilitate event check-ins. This includes, but is not limited to, the Consumer's name, email address, payment processing details (handled securely via Stripe), device identifiers, and geographic data. We operate on a strict "Zero-Party Data" principle on behalf of Event Organizers; we act as a data processor facilitating the relationship between the Consumer and the Organizer.
3. Data Usage and Non-Sale Guarantee
The personal data collected is utilized exclusively to deliver the requested service, prevent fraud, and communicate critical event updates. HostHQ explicitly does not sell, rent, or cross-market Consumer personal data to third parties, data brokers, or competing event organizers. HostHQ does not engage in targeted advertising based on cross-context behavioral tracking.
4. Consumer Rights under the NJDPA
In accordance with the NJDPA, New Jersey residents possess comprehensive rights regarding their personal data, including:
- The Right to Access: Consumers have the right to request confirmation of whether their personal data is being processed and to access a portable copy of such data.
- The Right to Correction: Consumers may request the correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data held by HostHQ.
- The Right to Deletion: Consumers may request the total erasure of their personal data from HostHQ's servers, subject to certain legal and transactional exceptions.
- The Right to Opt-Out: Consumers possess the right to opt out of the processing of their personal data for the purposes of targeted advertising, the sale of personal data, or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
- Sensitive Data Protections: HostHQ will not process sensitive personal data (such as biometric data or precise geolocation) without obtaining explicit, opt-in consent from the Consumer prior to collection.
5. Data Security and Processor Agreements
HostHQ implements robust administrative, technical, and physical security measures, including data encryption in transit and at rest, multi-factor authentication for administrative access, and strict role-based access controls. As a data processor for Event Organizers, HostHQ maintains binding contractual agreements guaranteeing data confidentiality, adherence to the Organizer's specific processing instructions, and the mandatory return or deletion of data once the processing relationship is complete.
6. Contact and Dispute Resolution
Consumers wishing to exercise their rights under the NJDPA may submit a request via our dedicated privacy web form or support email at privacy@hosthq.live. HostHQ commits to responding to all verified requests within the statutory timeframe mandated by New Jersey law.
